As thousands of international athletes and spectators descend upon Rio De Janeiro, Brazil for this year’s quadrennial summer games, we started to wonder exactly how big is this seaside metropolis?
While this year’s games have been plagued by reports of unclean waterways, Zika virus and crime, there is no denying the coastal beauty and rich culture of this city of more than 6.4 million people.
In the spirit of competition, we decide to see how Rio stacked up against other international cities, in particular past summer games host cities such as Atlanta, Seoul and Berlin. Check out the final results below:
